About the New & Improved HR IMPACT Awards
Originally created to raise awareness of excellence in human resource programs and practices in the Greater Houston area, the 2010 HR IMPACT Awards will recognize both HR workgroups as well as HR professionals that have created significant business value (impact) for their organizations. Nominations are now open through Monday, August 30, 2010.

NOMINATION PROCESS
- All nominations must be submitted via the online nomination form by Monday, August 30, 2010

ORGANIZATIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- All nominations must be submitted via the online nomination form.
- The nomination form must be completed in full at the time of submission and submitted by the stated deadline of Monday, August 30, 2010.
- The program must fall into one of the submission categories listed here.
- A company may nominate a program in only ONE category.
- There is no limit to the number of individual programs a company may nominate, so long as the programs are unique and distinct from one another. A separate nomination form must be completed and submitted for each individual program.
- The nominated program must have been in place for at least 6 months at the time of nomination.
- The nominated program must have been developed by an HR department/workgroup based in the Greater Houston area.
- Membership in or affiliation with HR Houston is not required.
- If the judging panel deems that the nominations in a category do not meet the established criteria, HR Houston reserves the right not to name a winner in that category.
INDIVIDUAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- All nominations must be submitted via the online nomination form.
- The nomination form must be completed in full at the time of submission and submitted by the stated deadline of Monday, August 30, 2010.
- The nomination must fall into one of the submission categories listed here.
- An individual can be nominated in only ONE category.
- The individual must be based in the Greater Houston area.
- The individual must currently be working as an HR practitioner.
- Membership in or affiliation with HR Houston is not required.
- If the judging panel deems that the nominations in a category do not meet the established criteria, HR Houston reserves the right not to name a winner in that category.
JUDGING PROCESS
- All nominations are reviewed by an independent panel of judges in a “blind” format (without identifying names, companies, etc.)
- The judging panel is comprised of senior business executives, HR leaders, and university professors.
- Each judge scores the nominations for each category, and the nomination receiving the highest composite score is named the winner of the award for the category. In case of a tie, the two submissions are sent back to the judges for comparative scoring.
- If the judging panel deems that the nominations in a category do not meet the established criteria, HR Houston reserves the right not to name a winner in that category.
- Award winners will be announced and recognized on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at a special HR IMPACT Awards luncheon.
RECOGNITION
- All participating nominees will be recognized and receive a certificate of commendation.
- Winning entries, as determined by the judging panel of HR experts, will be announced at the HR IMPACT Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 4, 2010 and will receive an award that commemorates their accomplishment.
- Winners are celebrated and recognized through publications such as Houston Chronicle, Houston Business Journal, HR Matters, and HResource - HR Houston’s newsletter, and HR Houston’s website.
